The Marana-Foothills Optimist Club
The Marana-Foothills Optimist Club, Inc. is a membership, service organization. Our members work to make the lives of our community youth grow into adulthood with optimism for their lives.
We actively partner with a variety of other non-profits, including the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Foundation, The Candlelighters Family Camp for Children with Cancer, Santa’s Helpers, Inc., the Marana School District, the Marana Police Department, And a variety of others.
What is an Optimist Club and what do the members do?
An Optimist Club works to help the youth in their community.
The Marana-Foothills Optimist Club has projects with the Marana Unified School District, Santa's Helpers, Ronald McDonald House, to name a few. We have also supported the Marana MCAT High School students, donated Varsity Letter Jackets to kids at Marana High School, worked with the Marana Police Department at the DEA Drug Take Back Days, and the list goes on.
Our projects and funds stay in our local community and each Club chooses their own projects and fundraisers.
Of course, this means we also do fundraising and volunteer in our community, and that takes enthusiastic Club Members.
We are always looking for new Club members to expand our projects and help more youth in our community.
We are a fun bunch and do a lot of laughing at our meetings and during our projects.
Our Club Dues are $135.00 a year, or $33.00 a month. The dues covers our insurance and very small administrative costs. We are a 501 c 4 organization.
There are NO Mandatory meetings, but we do miss our members when they cannot attend! And, if you want to come to a few meetings to get to know us, come.
Optimist International was formed in 1919. Today, you will find Clubs all over the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Nepal, Thailand, the Congo, and 22 other countries.
